Acupuncture Theory

Acupuncture-Developed in China, this soothing therapy has been providing relief to people for more than 2000 years.  Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Acupuncture is a holistic medicine that addresses the whole person, body, and mind in its healing approach.  The main goal of TCM is to treat the root pattern causing the disease.  Essentially, that means that it factors in all of the symptoms a person is experiencing as indicators of a constitutional pattern specific to that person.  Treating the root causes a change in health so that the pattern and symptoms are resolved.

Acupuncture works by utilizing the body’s healing ability.  When the acupuncture points are stimulated,  the nervous system sends messages to the brain and spinal cord.  This causes the release of “good feeling” chemicals such as serotonin, dopamine, and endorphins, making people feel physically and emotionally better.

The more frequently the root pattern of disease is treated, the easier it is for the body to become balanced, maintaining a pattern of health.
